Introduction

Love for people and the Earth can make changes.

Chairman’s Greeting

HIL is a non-profit organization established in the Republic of Korea to help our neighbors in despair in the world suffering from disasters, poverty, destruction of the ecosystem, and educational inequity. Based on love for humanity, we at HIL have been actively working in the fields of education, support for vulnerable groups, disaster response, and the global environment beyond nationality, ethnicity, race, religion, and ideology.

As a result, HIL obtained special consultative status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council (UN ECOSOC), associated with the United Nations Department of Global Communications (UN DGC), and accredited to the United Nations Environment Programme(UNEP). Also, HIL received commendation awards from the Minister of Health and Welfare, the Minister of the Interior and Safety, the Minister of Oceans and Fisheries, and the Governor of Chungcheongnam-do Province.

Though HIL was established by ordinary people who intended to help their neighbors in need, HIL could have achieved such miraculous results in a short period of less than 20 years. It’s because HIL’s individual, corporation, and group donors have extended warm hands to all corners of the global village.

All the donors of HIL, who thought of their neighbors, the country, and even the global community before themselves and were willing to fortune to others, are genuine heroes of our age.

As an international humanitarian and development NGO truly representing the Republic of Korea, HIL will sincerely strive to do our best to help our neighbors in the global village who are suffering from disasters, poverty, extreme weather, and educational inequity in compliance with the noble and sublime intentions of all the donors of HIL.

On behalf of HIL, I would like to express my deep respect and sincere gratitude to our donors who have expressed their love for people and the Earth through HIL. Thanks.

Chairman Heekook LEE
