There’s the sixth round of volleyball match (GS Caltex vs Heugkuk Life) at 5pm on February 28, and this day was designated as “HUMAN IN LOVE Day”. On this day, an event called “Happy Volleyball Picnic for The Visually Handicapped” was held in Jangchung Gymnasium.

On “HUMAN IN LOVE Day”, the visually handicapped could enjoy listening to sports games as if they were actually watching it. Around 300 supporters and volunteers participated in this event to practice sharing and volunteering in their daily lives.

Now you’re watching GS Caltex vs Heungkuk Life volleyball match. Nahee-Kim, no. 7 player from Heungkuk Life, is going a little bit back and trying to serve. GS Caltex receives well. Min-kyeong Hwang spikes. Heungkuk Life receives well. Toss, spike! GS Caltex receives! Toss! So-young Lee passes! Heungkuk Life misses it! GS Catlex got one point.

HUMAN IN LOVE and GS Caltex invited Audio Description Association so that the visually handicapped can listen to how the game goes and how the players move as if they were actually watching the game.

It’s my first time to watch a volleyball game. Those with physical disabilities like me can’t have this kind of opportunity. It’s more exciting to come to a gymnasium and watch this game than just listen to the radio because there’s only clapping and I have no idea which team got the score. But it’s very helpful to listen to audio describers here.

“After serving as a volunteer, I realized how grateful I am to be healthy and be able to help others.
In the past, I was hesitant to help people with disabilities but through this experience, I think I won’t hesitate anymore.”

HUMAN IN LOVE and GS Caltex will continue to provide many opportunities for vulnerable people who are left out of cultural and sports activities. We would be appreciated for your interest and support.
