A Letter from HIL Scholarship Student Immanuel

By 2019년 01월 08일August 18th, 2024No Comments

Hi, I’m Immanuel Mbarushimana, a HIL scholarship student living in Rwanda. I came to know about HUMAN IN LOVE in 2014 when I was a high school student. I was so worried about my future and I was so frustrated at that time. It was really difficult to get food and pay my tuition. I was even kicked out of my school every three months and I was so angry about the fact that I was so poor. I had no one to help me out and I felt like I was alone. It was the darkest and toughest time in my life.

HUMAN IN LOVE found me and gave me scholarship. This brought a huge change to me and my family. I could focus on my study because I could get over the feelings that I had when I was kicked out of my school. And my family didn’t have to pay my tuition so their life got better too. I got good grades and was able to go enter one of the national medical schools.

This year is my senior year at the med school. I was dispatched to clinics and could meet many people with different ages. When I was there, I was thinking I wasn’t even able to be there if there were no HIL supporters. I felt so much responsibility for the people who needed my help, and I wasn’t afraid of treating those patients.
During a vacation, I go to my hometown and join HIL’s voluntary activities. I help deliver school uniforms to kids and repair broken houses. My goal is to focus on my study and become a doctor in the public health field so that I can help people in need and contribute to local communities. This is the belief that HUMAN IN LOVE gave to me and the promise that I made to myself.

When I was having a hard time, HIL supports helped me get through it. Thanks to them, I could feel the happiness and satisfaction that I thought I would never feel. I’ll keep my promise just like you did. Thank you for your unconditional love and support. Happy New Year!
