HUMAN IN LOVE organized summer camp for the visually impaired in low-income families. Since the blinds need assistant when they go out, they do not get many opportunities for outings. The camp celebrated its fourth anniversary this year. Total of 120 people including the blinds from families receiving basic livelihood guarantee and low-come families, carers, and guides participated for the camp from July 26th to 27th. The camp took place at Gwanjinri Beach in Gwangwon Province and ‘Wind Village’ of Pyungchang.
Jang-Hwan KIM, the Chairman of Korea Blind Union Gwanak-gu Branch office said, “Many visually impaired people do not have an opportunity to visit seaside in their lifetime. I hope through this camp, many blind people will be encouraged to move forward with their lives.” Various programs such as swimming, seashell findings, water sports, seaside walking and more were offered. Also, lectures for the blinds were provided to encourage them to overcome isolation.
