Philippines typhoon ‘Haiyan’ relief efforts (1)

On Thursday, November 14th, HUMAN IN LOVE Disaster Recovery Team examined damage caused by ‘Haiyan’ in Ormoc, Leyte and Tacloban.

The team examined the damage and current condition with the mayor of Ormoc and local volunteers. At Tacloban, the team interviewed government officials, exchanged information with other organizations, and participated in WHO meetings to identify the level of damage.
The team was registered HUMAN IN LOVE as an rescue organization at RDC (Reception and Departure Center) of Tacloban Airport and UN OSSOC(On-Site Operations Coordination Centre), Tacloban City Hall. By doing so, we let the international community to know that HUMAN IN LOVE can provide humanitarian support..

After identifying the scope of damage caused, we found out that many organizations were working in Tacloban region and the dead bodies were mostly collected in the region. Therefore, HUMAN IN LOVE set base camp in Ormoc region and provided rescue efforts in recovering damaged homes and removing debris

HUMAN IN LOVE Disaster Recovery Team is using necessary equipment and working in the area where other governmental organizations or NGOs are not found. Also, the team is allowing the residents of the region to participate in recovery efforts so they can have ownership in what we are doing.The team is also cooperating with the Mayor of Ormoc and establishing long-term recovery plan so that the region can fully recover.
