HUMAN IN LOVE won the Minister’s award from the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries by recognizing its contribution to reducing marine waste.

HUMAN IN LOVE(HIL), an international humanitarian and development Non-governmental Organization(NGO), was awarded a commendation for contributing to reducing marine debris by the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries at the 22nd International Coastal Cleanup Day commemoration ceremony held in BEXCO, Busan on September 23, 2022.

With the goal of ‘Sustainable Sea and Earth’, HIL has been conducting beach clean-ups, underwater clean-ups, river clean-ups, monitoring and recording of the collected marine waste, marine environment education, and campaigns, since 2010.

Since 2021, HIL has hosted “My Beloved Ocean’, the children’s environmental drawing contest every single year. HIL has been spreading out the importance of marine environment conservation through the installation of the winners’ artworks, online and offline exhibitions online, and the publishing of children’s books.

In addition, HIL was selected as the regional coordinator of the chungcheongnam-do province of the ‘Adopt-A-Beach’ program, organized by the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries of the Republic of Korea(MOF) and the Korea Marine Environment Management Corporation(KOEM). As a coordinator, HIL has been carrying out clean-up activities and environment protection campaigns with the 15 beach-adopted groups (company, local community, and school) on the beaches located in the Chungcheongnam-do province.

The commemorative ceremony was held in conjunction with the 7th International Marine Debris Conference (7IMDC). Many experts in the field of marine waste gathered from all over the world, and around 400 people, including the MOF, the KOEM, and other peopled working at the relevant organizations, participated in the

HIL’s activities for environmental protection have been accomplished by the participation of individual donors, supporters, companies, HIL search and rescue corps, volunteers, advisors, residents, the government, etc. Thank you. Let’s go together toward making clean oceans without stopping!
