Background to the closing of WDRO and the establishment of HUMAN IN LOVE

We, World Disaster Relief Organization (WDRO), had done not only emergency life-saving and relief operations in domestic and overseas disaster areas but also sharing and volunteer work for vulnerable people such as the disabled and low-income groups. However, poverty and hunger, poor public health and educational environment in developing countries in Africa and Asia, and environmental destruction around the world made us feel keenly the necessity of extending the scope of work. In this regard, we tried to expand the scope of work by amending the articles of association, but it was impossible because the Ministry of Public Administration and Security, the competent ministry of WDRO, had no right to approve the activities abroad. In addition, we had experienced difficulties in conducting rescue and relief operations due to a lack of regional headquarter or branch in disaster-affected countries and networking with local NGOs. That encouraged us to transform into a greater organization working at a global level. Therefore, we disbanded WDRO and made it absorbed into a new organization named “HUMAN IN LOVE”, to embrace a wider range of work including disaster-related projects as well as other activities internationally to address global issues.
