On January 16 2016, the Second Human In Love Youth Mentoring Volunteer Group was launched at Eroom Center, Yeoeuido. The Second Mentoring Volunteer Group consists of high-school students in Seoul who are able to serve as a learning mentor. After the review of applications and the interview, HUMAN IN LOVE designated 102 students as mentors.
At 12 regional children’s centers and one middle school in Seoul, learning mentors will teach middle school students in vulnerable groups (low-income families, multicultural families) for one year from January to December 2016. At the ceremony, we also had time to award our mentors who worked really hard during 2015. One of the awardees is Nari BAEK, a student of Guil High School. She said “My dream was to become a teacher since I was little, and I wanted to know whether being a teacher is what I really can and want. And after serving as a mentor for the last one year, I realized that I really want to be a teacher”.
In the meantime, Younghoo KIM, the chairman of HUMAN IN LOVE, said “”If young people are engaged in volunteer activities that are in line with their future careers or that are interesting to them, they will enjoy volunteering and be more willing to practice sharing. I’ll make best efforts to support high school students, who will be the leaders of our country, so that they can help vulnerable people in a more voluntary and continuous way. To this end, I’ll do everything I can to cultivate the culture of sharing”.
