The expected rate of elementary school graduates with basic reading skills by 2030 is 67%. However, 300 million children and adolescents may still lack basic numeracy and literacy abilities. We’re supporting children to complete primary education programs stably.

The gaps between countries, regions, and income stand out at the higher education level. Dropout rates are increased, and the chances to escape from poverty are decreased compared to the primary education level. We at HUMAN IN LOVE conduct scholarship projects to provide long-term support to youth who are at risk of dropping out of school due to family circumstances and strengthen their self-reliance capabilities by providing education programs, such as information and communication technology (ICT) program, entrepreneurship program, foreign language program, and vocational education program.

The adults who do not complete primary education due to conflict or poverty face severe limitations in their economic and social activities. For instance, it was very hard for illiterate adults to accomplish everyday tasks such as opening and saving a bank account, checking payslips, or looking for new job information. Additionally, the lack of literacy of an adult affects a child’s education. Basic numeracy and literacy are essential for eradicating poverty.

Books are an essential tool for children’s development. Through books, children learn to speak and write, cultivate knowledge and sense of values, and develop imagination and thinking skills.
Since 2013, we have been distributing high-quality books written in their native languages or English to schools and libraries in countries where children’s books are severely deficient.
