Ukrainian Refugee Crisis Response (March 2022 ~ Present)
Ukraine refugees have evacuated to nearby countries such as Poland, Romania, Hungary, and Moldova, caused by the Russian aggression since February 24, 2022.
HUMAN IN LOVE provided hygiene kits and resilience kits to Ukraine refugees in the shelters in Moldova and has been supporting food, necessities, medicines, and generators to the internally displaced refugees in Ukraine.
COVID-19 Emergency Relief in the Republic of Korea (February 2020 ~ August 2021)
HUMAN IN LOVE started the emergency relief activity immediately after the Korean government announced the highest crisis alert level for COVID-19 in February 2020 and completed a total of 13 emergency relief activities in August 2021.
We provided hygiene relief supply kits and food to the vulnerable, such as seriously ill patients, the disabled, the elderly, and children. Also, we carried out activities to deliver health functional foods and letters of encouragement to medical staff who increased their fatigue due to the prolongation of the pandemic.
Support for COVID-19 Disinfectants in the Philippines (April 2021)
In the Philippines, the number of daily new confirmed COVID-19 cases began to increase rapidly from March 2021 and reached the worst situation on April 2, 2021 that more than 15,000 daily new confirmed cases occurred.
HUMAN IN LOVE Search and Rescue Corps (Chief: Kyeyul YOU) provided 55 bulks of COVID-19 disinfectant (20L per bulk) to the Manila Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office where it was experiencing difficulties in quarantine.
Accordingly, the City of Manila awarded a plaque of appreciation to HUMAN IN LOVE on May 1, 2021.
COVID-19 Emergency Relief in the Republic of Rwanda (April 2020)
In response to a request for emergency support from the Rwandan government, HUMAN IN LOVE provided a month’s worth of food and soaps to 100 households in the Nyamata sector, Rwanda, who were the most vulnerable (families with nursing children, the disabled, the elderly, and children) and had never received any external supports.
Also, during the period, we conducted a four-week nutrition camp to help undernourished infants and mothers recover their health.
Extreme Cold Emergency Relief in Earthquake-hit Regions in Nepal (February 2016)
Nepal was hit by a major earthquake in April 2015 and then hit by severe cold even before recovery was in progress. HUMAN IN LOVE provided winter supplies, consisting of blankets, jumpers, hats, gloves, socks, etc., to 700 children living in the alpine zones of the Sindhupalchok region.
Repair and Rehabilitation in Typhoon ‘HAIYAN’-damaged Region in the Philippines (November 2013)
In November 2013, typhoon ‘HAIYAN’ hit Leyte Island in the Philippines. The typhoon caused a lot of devastation with a maximum speed of 379 km/h. In particular, the city of Ormoc was seriously damaged. 97% of the total households (42,500 households) in the city were missing and collapsed. And, the public facilities and schools were severely damaged.
HUMAN IN LOVE carried out the repair and rehabilitation of houses and schools in the city of Ormoc. The On-Site Operations Coordination Centre (OSSOC), the coordination center for international Search and Rescue teams worldwide, was installed at one of the schools where HUMAN IN LOVE completed the repair and the rehabilitation.
Emergency Relief in Typhoon ‘BOPHA’-damaged Region in the Philippines (December 2012)
In December 2012, typhoon ‘BOPHA’ struck Mindanao Island in the Philippines that 1,000 people were killed, and 149,000 houses were destroyed.
HUMAN IN LOVE conducted a needs assessment in Moncayo, Mindanao Island, prepared emergency relief supply kits, and delivered the kits to 1,182 disaster-affected families (5,498 people) in the Moncayo area in cooperation with the Philippine National Police. In addition, we supported generators to help restore communication systems, enable accurate damage estimates, and conduct recovery activities smoothly.
Emergency Relief in Typhoon ‘WASHI’-damaged Region in the Philippines (December 2011)
On December 16-17, 2011, tropical Storm ‘WASHI’ passed through the southern Philippines. It caused more than a month’s rainfall in just 12 hours, so more than 1,500 people were killed and over 370 thousand people were internally displaced.
In cooperation with the Cebu City government and the Philippine National Police, HUMAN IN LOVE (formerly known as WDRO(World Disaster Relief Organization)) provided emergency relief items, including cooking utensils and sanitary projects, to the victims in the Iligan region and the oriental negros region where were not providing enough of relief kits compared to the scale of damage.
Donation for the Rehabilitation of the Earthquake-damaged Region in Japan (November 2011)
In March 2011, a magnitude 9.0 earthquake and a huge tsunami with a maximum height of 10 meters occurred in the Pacific Ocean near the Sendai region of northeastern Japan. As a result, more than 20,000 people died or missed, and over 330 thousand people were displaced. HUMAN IN LOVE (formerly known as WDRO(World Disaster Relief Organization)) raised a donation (2.5 million JPY) for earthquake-damaged village rehabilitation and delivered it to ‘Civic Force’, a local humanitarian NGO in Japan.
Donation for the Rehabilitation of the Earthquake-damaged Region in Turkiye (November 2011)
In October 2011, a magnitude 7.2 earthquake occurred in eastern Turkey. More than 400 people died, and it caused a lot of property damage at a scale of tens of millions of US dollars.
HUMAN IN LOVE (formerly known as WDRO(World Disaster Relief Organization)) tried to dispatch the Search and Rescue Corps to earthquake-hit regions. But, through discussion and investigation, we judged that the search and rescue work would be hard due to the continuous aftershocks and unstable security conditions.
WDRO Global Volunteer Group – ‘Building Houses of Hope’ (January 2010 ~ July 2011)
HUMAN IN LOVE (formerly known as WDRO(World Disaster Relief Organization)) organized a total of 5 volunteer groups, composed of college student volunteers, and provided ‘House of Hope’ for disaster victims and ‘House of Love’ for foreign veterans of the Korean War.

Cholera Outbreak Response in Haiti (December 2010)
After a major earthquake hit Haiti in January 2010, Haiti was in a state of catastrophe with tens of thousands of people losing their lives due to food shortages and the spread of cholera. HUMAN IN LOVE (formerly known as WDRO(World Disaster Relief Organization)) provided 10,000 kg of rice and noodles and 20,000 pieces of soap to residents in Tabarre region, Haiti, where they were severely affected.
Emergency Relief in the Volcanic-damaged Region in Indonesia (November 2010)
Mount Merapi, one of the most active volcanoes on Earth, erupted from October to November 2010. As a result, 347 people were killed and over 300 thousand people were evacuated from the affected area.

Emergency Relief in the Flood-damaged Region in Bangladesh (December 2009)
In June 2009, Bangladesh suffered a flood that submerged 40% of the country, including the capital Dhaka, and killed 544 people.
HUMAN IN LOVE (formerly known as WDRO(World Disaster Relief Organization)) provided relief items such as rice and blankets to victims in Cumilla, one of the most affected regions.
Typhoon ‘CATSANA’ Response in the Philippines (September 2009)
HUMAN IN LOVE (formerly known as WDRO(World Disaster Relief Organization)) rescued a female student in Cainta city who had been washed away by flood and repaired typhoon-damaged houses of the poor.
Typhoon ‘MORAKKOT’ Response in Taiwan (August 2009)
In August 2009, typhoon ‘MORAKKOT’ landed in Taiwan. A record-breaking 3,000 mm of rain fell over two days and caused landslides that buried the entire village of Xiaolin. Also, bridges, roads, and buildings across the country were damaged.
