[ A Rundo Primary School groundbreaking ceremony in Bubanza, Burundi ]
”Now we have a school in our village!”
There was a party on November 3 in Bubanza, Burundi to celebrate the opening of a primary school. Residents were collecting pocket money for five years to purchase a school site. However, they had no idea how long they have to wait until the construction starts. After promising with the residents to get one at a time, HUMAN IN LOVE started raising fund to build two classrooms. This project started thanks to HUMAN IN LOVE members and many people who donated through KT&G Sangsang Fund Donation Market and Happybean.

”I’ve heard that the supporters of KT&G and Happybean and HUMAN IN LOVE members also have kids. I really thank them for helping us as if our kids are theirs. I want to meet and thank each one of them. We will never stop working hard. Please keep standing by us until the end of our journey.

”We’ve collected money and worked together to build a school, but without the help of KT&G, Happybean and HUMAN IN LOVE, the school could not have been built. I am so happy that our children do not have to go to a faraway school and can go to the nearby school even in rain. We really appreciate that.

”I used to be late a lot when I was attending Mugereka Primary School in a nearby village and I was afraid of hit by a car and my clothes were often getting wet because of the rain. But it’s really nice to have a school in my town and not be late to school anymore. Thank you very much for building a school. I’ll do my best to help others just like our supporters do. And I’ll never give up studying again.

We hope Rundo Primary School can become the hope of Rundo village.
Currently in Rundo Primary School, 221 students in first to fifth grade are taking turns in two classrooms to take morning class or evening class. Students older than fifth graders cannot attend this school because there’s not enough room. The principal is aiming to teach skills to all of the students and to expand the school so that students from sixth to ninth graders can take a class. Like the promise with Rundo residents, HUMAN IN LOVE is aiming to get things done one by one.
Please keep supporting us until Rundo Primary School can become the hope of local society. Thank you.
