On November 24th 2016, a ceremony was held to deliver moneyboxes as a part of the BaNaSe program (I, who have upright character, become a world citizen) that had been run by HUMAN IN LOVE
(Chairman Young-hoo Kim) at Seoul Yale Elementary School between April 10 and November 18th 2016.
“Good 100 KRW(Korean Won)” collected by Yale Elementary School students will be provided to Ruzo Elementary School in Rweru so that those who wear tattered uniforms or make their own uniforms out of similar clothes can wear new uniforms.
Doh-yoon Kim (Student President, 6th grade) said “I’m happy as I’ve collected money and could help disadvantaged kids. Of course, I’ve been making donations at my cathedral but thanks to “Let’s Collect Good 100 KRW” I could get more engaged in donation.”
Min-jae Seo (Vice Student President, 5th grade) said “As the old saying goes, many a mickle makes a muckle. I realized that even a little savings could be a big money enough to help others with, if they could be saved repeatedly. I thought donation or regular sponsorship is something that is not relevant to me, but I got more interested in donation these days thanks to Let’s Collect Good 100 KRW.”
Chae-hyeon Shin (Vice Student President, 5th grade) said “When I started saving by collecting 100 Korean won coins, I told my parents about helping out African children and they joined this campaign too. From now on, I’ll be more engaged in this kind of campaign so that Korea can become a more respected country.”
Vice President Gil-soo Kim said that “Sharing is the best way to improve one’s personality. It means a lot to join hands and collect something valuable together. I’d like to extend my gratitude to HUMAN IN LOVE for giving children an opportunity to practice sharing. I’m happy that we’ve collected more money this year than last year.”
Chairman Young-hoo Kim said “When HUMAN IN LOVE staff visited a local market in Rwanda, Africa, they saw many children wearing a school uniform that HUMAN IN LOVE was written on. Their parents recognized our staff because they were wearing the same uniforms that their children wearing. When I saw them greet our staff with their deep gratitude, still I could remember, I was so moved that I couldn’t help my self as my eyes filled with tears. If we could continue to do the same things as this one this even though it’s very small, they will never forget the name of Yale. We can make a huge change as well as spread humanitarianism and enhance national prestige.”
Chairman Kim also said that “It’s more important to help others and have a warm heart than make a quality product and sell it. This kind of mindset will help more foreigners believe Korea is the number one country. We’re building a school that would open next year in Rwanda. If teachers and students could see the opening ceremony, they really feel a miracle has happened.”

BaNaSe, a personality/sharing education program for children, promotes cooperation between the school and family and encourages children to develop the right personality and a sense of global citizenship. The program consists of “Let’s Collect Good 100 KRW,” global citizenship education and parent education (one minute scolding, number one education).
To be more specific, through “Let’s Collect Good 100 KRW”, children are encouraged to set their goals and action plans every day. Every time they achieve their goals, their parents give them 100 won. By collecting 100 won every day, they can practice sharing for those who are marginalized in the world. This program aims to help children realize the importance of small actions and pick up the right habits at their schools and homes.
HUMAN IN LOVE, an international relief and development NGO established in 2011, has made great efforts to deal with extreme poverty, famine, poor health and education environments and improve the lives of the poor. Also, HUMAN IN LOVE has participated in emergency relief activities and saved lives from home and abroad while working hard to protect the environment and promote coexistence and prosperity.
Recently, HUMAN IN LOVE is working on welfare programs for the physically challenged and providing domestic and global scholarship and mentoring services for students from low-income families. As of today, the number of HUMAN IN LOVE members is 80,000 and the organization is conducting both domestic and overseas projects with the equal ratio. In July last year, HUMAN IN LOVE obtained Special Consultative Status from the United Nations Economical and Social Council (UN ECOSOC).
From June 2014, HUMAN IN LOVE has conducted the BaNaSe program for 7,706 students at a total 17 of elementary schools.
