HUMAN IN LOVE Emergency Relief Team is closely collaborating with the On-Site Operations Coordination Centre (OSOCC) in the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs and Turkiye’s Disaster and Emergency Management Presidency (Afet ve Acil Durum Yönetimi Başkanlığı, AFAD). On 14th, we arrived in Hatay Province, one of the worst affected areas of the earthquake, and set up our operations headquarters under the USAR Coordination Cell (UCC)!
We are convinced that there would be more than 100 buried survivors in Hatay Province alone.
Even on the 14th, eight days after the earthquake, we continue to see people rescued from everywhere. A 77-year-old woman, Guinger, was rescued 212 hours after the earthquake, Faezganam and his wife were rescued after 209 hours, and a 12-year-old boy, Yusel, was rescued after 207 hours, giving hope to those who are anxiously waiting for their missing family members. At the OSOCC-led UCC meeting in the evening, representatives of rescue organizations from around the world were all confident that there would be more than 100 survivors in Hatay province alone.
We will not give up!
Please support the work of HUMAN IN LOVE Emergency Rescue Team so that we can reach out to those who are still holding on to hope.
