By 2016년 02월 27일August 14th, 2024No Comments

Muraho! Hello. This is Seong, Hae-shin working in Rwanda and Burundi.
I’m writing to you once a month, and it’s already time for me to deliver the news of another school uniform delivery ceremony. I’m always thankful to deliver the news of our activities. Now, let me introduce you with our recent activity.

Rwiminazi Primary School is the fourth school to benefit from the HUMAN IN LOVE project to provide school uniforms for African students in poor educational environment.

On Feb. 23, 2016, HUMAN IN LOVE Rwandan branch visited the primary school located in Rwanda’s Rweru Sector with 693 school uniforms. Ahead of this project, our staff made effort in building up our health out of concern that we have to deliver twice more uniforms than former primary schools. Fortunately, we were able to finish the event successfully thanks to the parent’s association and principal of Rwiminazi Primary School.

Rwiminazi Primary School is a small school that is located at the central area of Rweru Sector. As there are smaller number of classrooms than the number of students, classes are divided into morning and afternoon sections. In particular, there were lots of students who did not have their own school uniforms.

As the HUMAN IN LOVE vehicle entered the school, many children shouted out loud and greeted us. It was so cute to see the children running out to line up as their teachers called them while they were studying hard in their classes.

Even though the ceremony was quite busier than the former ones, our staff and the two volunteer students were able to finish it without any trouble as we have already experienced two times of uniform delivery event together. The two students who helped us with the ceremony are preparing to go to college after graduating from high school with excellent results, thanks to the support by HUMAN IN LOVE sponsors.

However, they are not too happy about their prospects due to the unduly high tuition fees compared to prices in Rwanda, even though their grades are good enough to go to college. As a person who was luckily born in Korea and to good parents, I took education for granted, but here in Rwanda, education is working as a tool to make the rich get richer and the poor get poorer.

Rwandans also think that one should graduate college to live a decent life, but for people in financial difficulties, college is just a place where only those who have money can go, regardless of how smart one is. I strongly hope that Immanuel and Florence, who are very supportive to our activities, can enjoy another good opportunity.

HUMAN IN LOVE would like to thank Sangsang Fund Donation Market, Happybean, Youth Dream Team Korea and HUMAN IN LOVE family sponsors who gave support in providing school uniforms to the students of Rwiminazi Primary School.

[ “Thank you for providing us with pretty new school uniforms.” ]

Please give continuous support and interest to the children of Rweru Sector, the rural area of Rwanda, so that they can grow up well and happily. Thank you very much.
